Due to the NCCS transition to Nexus Compute, during FY27, some projects with allocations at NCCS/Nexus Compute will need to make a transition to use other computational resources, with a target completion date of August 31, 2027.
Transition options include the NAS High End Computing facilities (NAS) under the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division, and the NASA Science Cloud.
Transition to NAS High End Computing
- Submit a new request to the Request Management System (RMS) to obtain an allocation at NAS:
- Except for “Section III: Desired Resource Info,” you may replicate information from your current allocated request for NCCS resources (Group Identifier/GID, Computational Project Name, Funding Source Info, etc.).
- Under “Section III: Desired Resource Info,” select the “NAS” button for the “Select a single location:” choice.
- When you have received the notification of your new allocation at NAS, you can begin getting login accounts for your team. See NAS’ Getting an Account and the NAS Online Account Request portal.
- NAS has an extensive online Knowledge Base providing information for users.
- The NAS User Support Control Room can be contacted at (800) 331-8737, (650) 604-4444, or support@nas.nasa.gov .
Transition to the NASA Science Cloud
Commercial cloud computing offers cost-effective, high-performance solutions for the right requirements. The Science Cloud is an option for projects migrating from NCCS that can fund commercial cloud resources. For detailed information about available services and funding requirements, visit:
