Laura Carriere
NASA Center for Climate Simulation Lead
Laura Carriere is the lead of the NASA Center for Climate Simulation, an
organization that provides high performance computing, storage,
networking, and data systems designed to meet the specialized needs of
the Earth science modeling communities. Prior to leading the NCCS, Laura
worked on a number of projects within the NCCS including implementing
centralized storage (CSS) to provide access to curated NASA data
products to all NCCS environments, guiding the Earth Data Analytics
Service (EDAS), a server side analytics tool, into production, and the
Collaborative REAnalysis Technical Environment (CREATE), a project to
process reanalysis data from the major global centers into Analysis
Ready Datasets (ARD) to facilitate reanalysis intercomparison.
Previously, Laura served as a System Engineer at the NCCS, managing Data
Services, Data Analytics, Centralized Storage, and User Services. Before
joining the NCCS in 2010, she worked as the Lead System Administrator at
the Global Modeling and Assimilation Office, one of the major customers
in the NCCS user community.
