Tom Schardt

MASS STORAGE LEAD, COMPUTER SCIENTIST

Tom Schardt is a Computer Scientist at the NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS), primarily serving as the Mass Storage Lead. He provides technical leadership for all NCCS high-end computing systems, including oversight of all system designs, budgeting, capacity planning, accounting, high-speed networking, hardware and system software configuration, supporting software designs, and integration of all hardware and software upgrades. Tom also provides technical leadership and direction to the NCCS high-end computing support and administration teams.

Tom is a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) system administrator responsible for installing and configuring operating system and application software. He is proficient in diagnostic and error recovery techniques, and is the primary Data Migration Facility archival storage system administrator.

Tom was the technical officer for High-End Computing on the GSA Millennia contract with CSRA Inc., and was a member of the SEWP Contract Technical Committee.
