Ozone Extremes Over the U.S. Tracked by NASA’s Composition Forecasting System

The NASA Global Modeling and Assimilation Office’s Goddard Earth Observing System Composition Forecasting (GEOS-CF) system captured extreme levels of surface ozone that posed a risk to millions of people and thousands of acres of crops in the Midwest U.S. this May. GEOS-CF runs daily at the NASA Center for Climate Simulation.
