Experience at NCCS
Interning at the NCCS with the Security Working Group has gave me the opportunity to interact with extremely talented individuals. Every day presents new challenges that push me to learn and improve constantly. Throughout this internship, I have gained valuable experience working hands-on with a plethora of tools and systems. Working with such tools equips me with knowledge for a successful career in the information security field. Each day of this internship energized me and challenged me in new ways.
Bio
Christopher Hong interned at NASA’s NCCS over the summer of 2019, working with the Security Working Group. In May 2019, Chris graduated from George Mason University (Fairfax, Virginia) with his Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, concentration: Information Security. During his time at George Mason, Chris was a member of the club swim team, ARISE Campus Ministries, as well as a founding father of the Epsilon Mu chapter of Beta Theta Pi. In his fraternity, he quickly rose to officer roles. Serving on the Recruitment Committee, then as Social Chair, then Vice President of Programming, and finally Vice President of Risk Management, Chris was extremely active in his leadership positions.
In his free time, Chris enjoys lifting weights, and playing the electric violin. Additionally, utilizes his computer security skills by practicing ethical hacking on virtual systems. He aspires to be a Penetration Tester in his future, and practicing penetration testing techniques is a way to prepare for future career prospects.
