NCCS Supercomputing Kiosk Development
George Roros
Abstract
The NASA Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS) needed a way to make its supercomputing capabilities more publicly known. To that end a kiosk was developed to be placed in Building 28’s atrium and used at science conferences. This kiosk displays information about the NCCS supercomputer, the success of its users, and research examples in stories and visualizations. This summer the supercomputing kiosk was to be finished and put on display. Instead of building upon the previous kiosk, version 2 of the supercomputing kiosk was born. It hosts a more dynamic and interactive interface to draw users’ attention.
