// Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM)

The Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) is designed to monitor and study tropical rainfall and the associated release of energy that helps to power the global atmospheric circulation, shaping both global weather and climate. CDS provides access to tropical and subtropical precipitation data through the obs4MIPs project in ESGF data node for the purpose of comparing NASA observational data with IPCC CMIP5 Climate Model data.

Spatial Coverage: 50°N - 50°S
Temporal Coverage: 1998 - 2012, monthly, 3 hourly
Data Resolution: 0.25°x0.25°

For more information, see the TRMM page on the Precipitation Measurement Missions Site.
